Castle Employment Group is working with one of Scarborough’s renowned assisted living residences to recruit a part-time cook who will support the catering team in providing breakfast, lunch, and evening meals for up to 24 residents.

This role offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £13.00, and candidates will work closely with the kitchen lead to ensure high-quality food service. The position guarantees a minimum of 20 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours (up to 30) by supporting with general catering duties.

What We’re Looking For

We're interested in candidates who:

• Are comfortable working in kitchens and are skilled in fresh food preparation and baking
• Are team players happy to work as part of a small, dedicated kitchen team
• Are available to work predominantly from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, three days per week (including some weekends)

This role suits individuals based in Scarborough, whether using public transport or with their own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality meals to residents
• Follow recipes and menus on a 5-week rotational cycle
• Support the immediate catering team and help develop menus based on resident feedback
• Maintain high standards in COSHH, Food Safety, and Health & Safety
• Pay close attention to dietary and allergen requirements

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS (funded by the employer)
• Food Safety Level 2
• Proven experience with fresh food and baking
• Knowledge of dietary needs and allergen management
