Product Development Engineer

Job Description

We are currently supporting a leading provider in engineering innovation, renowned for their commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Specialising in developing cutting-edge products, our client is expanding their team and seeking proactive individuals to join their dynamic environment. On offer is a salary between £28,000 - £32,000. On top of this competitive salary, benefits include: 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays, early finish on Fridays, enhanced pension and more.

The successful Product Development Engineer will be responsible for:

• Analysing existing products to identify areas for improvement and update current documentation.
• Proposing and approving alternative components in company products as necessary.
• Identifying and liaising with suppliers to source suitable materials and products within the development function.
• Collaborating with key suppliers and attend market events to stay abreast of trends and opportunities.
• Conceptualising new product ideas using CAD software, where required, to design prototypes.
• Testing products throughout the design process to troubleshoot potential problems.
• Fine-tune designs until they are ready for production.
• Delivering product specifications and procedures to the manufacturing and test teams for production purposes.
• Producing documentation and conduct training within DPS for new products.
• Contributing to achieving departmental and business KPI objectives.

The successful Product Development Engineer will have:

• Minimum qualifications at HND or Degree level in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. Equivalent experience and training will be considered.
• Experience in Power Electronics Design, Micro-Processor Hardware Design, Micro-Processor Software Programming, PCB Layout Design, and Analogue Circuit Design
